In cleaning power, the Sun Joe is up there with the prescribed Ryobi. It's promoted as a 2,030 psi unit equipped for moving water at 1.76 gpm, giving it a to a great degree high cleaning-units score of 3,572—on paper, that is something like a third higher than the CU of whatever is left of the electric models we tried. However, a more intensive take a gander at the particulars on the Sun Joe site turns up a "working weight" of 1,450 psi, which strengthens the possibility that producer specs are to be taken with a grain of salt. Despite the real number, we observed the Sun Joe to be on a standard with alternate machines in our test gather similar to cleaning force and cleaning speed.

Flooding: NCDC Advises Nigerians Against Infectious Disease Outbreaks

BY DOYIN OJOSIPE, Abuja

Following the outbreak of diarrhoea in Lagos due to flood, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has rolled out some precautionary measures to avoid outbreak of any other epidemic.

In a statement issued at the weekend, the NCDC reiterated earlier warnings by the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) that there will be flood in 30 states and 100 local government areas of the country, especially the high flood risk areas.

The statement reads in part, “To reduce the spread of infectious diseases such as cholera, dysentery, typhoid fever and poliomyelitis; and vector-borne diseases such as malaria and yellow fever during flooding, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) advises that precautionary measures should be taken, and offers the following advice to Nigerians;

“Do not drink flood water, or use it to wash dishes, brush teeth, or wash/prepare food; Communities should ensure chlorination of the public source of water supply; Ensure proper disposal of waste and clearing of sewage; Wash your hands frequently with soap and clean water.

“Discard all medicines, food and bottled water contaminated by flood water; In homes, ensure water is well boiled before drinking; Avoid open defecation and indiscriminate refuse dumping;

“Avoid mosquito bites by using an Insecticide Treated Net; Ensure safe food preparation techniques; If you experience sudden fever or diarrhea, please visit a health care facility immediately; Health workers should observe universal care precautions at all times.”

“There is an increased risk of contamination of water supply, and contact with contaminated flood which supports the transmission of infectious diseases and can lead to outbreaks. Flood also provides breeding ground for disease vectors.
